Andrew Bennett

Meet our guitar, bass and ukulele tutor Andrew Bennett. Andy has worked as professionally as a Guitar Player since 1985. His first job was in the cabaret band ‘Roxanne’ playing in working mens clubs up and down the north of England.

1987: Recruited by original rock band the Quest, to travel to Tokyo to perform with the band at The Budukan Staduim representing the U.K. in Yamaha World Band Explosion. Here, Andy received a Guitar award, awarded to him by Steve Lukather of Toto and Nathan East (Michael Jackson/Eric Clapton).
Toured with this band supporting It Bites on their Once Around The World tour.

1994: Moved to London to work as a freelance Guitar Player.

2004 Till Present: Great Sankey High School, Guitar and Bass tutor. Teaching the ‘Rockshool’ Grading Curriculum 1-8. Sharing his extensive experience, working in all types of musical situations. Coach/Advisor to Bands. Involving the bringing together of pupils to form bands through their school life, focusing/ directing and giving pupils the freedom of creativity. Explaining and showing the use of theoretic and the practical uses of music notation as an aid to simplify the whole concept of painting with sound.

2008-2010: Worked for Warrington Borough Council as a band coach/mentor for Bands from all schools in the Warrington area, who were participating in the annual Rock Festival, held at The Parr Hall in Warrington.
